On December 16, 2022, a monumental day for the people of Gouriniani and surrounding areas, the Future Africa Foundation inaugurated its first water tower in Gouriniani, Côte d’Ivoire. The event was attended by numerous prominent personalities from both within and outside the region, such as former minister Léopoldine Tiézan Coffie and representative of the Minister of Hydraulics, Sanitation and Health Mr.Gildas Simy.
The reinforced concrete water tower, fully funded by the Future Africa Foundation, is an impressive addition to the local landscape; it was designed to provide clean drinking water to more than 5000 people across Gouriniani, Bandiahi, Koinzra and Ourouta. Thanks to the generous donation made by the Future Africa Foundation this project has been brought to life bringing immense joy and relief to thousands in the area.
In his speech, Mr. Charles Kie urged the populations to a good management of the tower. The relief and difference it will make to their everyday lives cannot be overstated, as it will reduce the time and energy spent by women and children walking more than 4 kilometers for clean drinking water - a task that was becoming increasingly arduous in rural areas. This water tower is the first of many set to be constructed in this region, with the Future Africa Foundation determined to provide accessible resources for generations to come.
